| The most enthusiastic violist you will ever meet, Jennifer Drake has been playing viola since age 10. As one of few people on the planet who actually owns a gold alto clef necklace and has alto clef tattoo, Jen is an advocate for the viola and viola power. She is currently serving as the secretary of the Idaho Viola Society. Jen performs with the Boise Philharmonic and the Boise Baroque Orchestra in addition to Darkwood Consort. Jen also teaches over 40 private viola students, and serves as the adjunct viola faculty for Northwest Nazarene University. She is responsible for much of Darkwood Consort's outreach program. Recent solo performances include the Magic Valley Symphony, the Treasure Valley Symphony, the Boise Baroque Orchestra and the Timberline and Capital High School Orchestras. She has also performed at the 33rd International Viola Congress, held in Reykjavík, Iceland and the World Bass Clarinet Convention in Rotterdam, Holland. During the summer, you can find Jen at Credo Chamber Music Camp, where Jen serves as the Residential Director and quartet coach for the Opus 1 program. When Jen is not doing any viola related activities, she enjoys hiking really long distances, such as across the panhandle of Idaho, or biking from one state to another. Jen has recently discovered the exciting world of the triathlon. As a founding member of the Boise Philharmonic Womens' Triathlon Team, Jen has done the YMCA's Spring Sprint and Y-Not triathlons. Jen will be participating in the 2006 Seattle Marathon and the 2007 RAGBRAI. You can also find Jen cruising around in her 1987 Volkswagen Cabriolet, or boring people to death with stories from her trips to Romania, Denmark, Iceland, Holland, Michigan, Oberlin, or the upcoming backpack adventure across Switzerland, all while drinking coffee at the Library Coffeehouse. (Boise's Best Coffee!) Jen has also earned a reputation as the third worst skier in all of Idaho. She is married to Chad Marvin, who is the Pastor of Worship and the Arts at Second Baptist Church, and a writer for Universal Music Group.
